Alison Wright is best known for her Emmy Award nominated performance (Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series) as FBI secretary Martha Hanson on FX’s critically acclaimed series The Americans. Coming off her star performance, she was cast in Ryan Murphy's FX limited series Feud!, starring Jessica Lange an Susan Sarandon, depicting the rivalry between Joan Crawford and Bette Davis. Alison has just signed on to play Lilah Anderson in TNT’s pilot Snowpiercer, a futuristic thriller drama based on the acclaimed 2013 feature by Bong Joon-ho. She most recently wrapped filming Ask For Jane, both written and directed by Rachel Carey. The film is based on the true story of the underground abortion network in Chicago in the ’60s and ’70s before Roe v. Wade. This year she also recurred in Amazon’s Sneaky Pete which was executive produced by Bryan Cranston. Additionally, she co-starred alongside Kerry Washington and Wendell Pierce in HBO’s telefilm Confirmation and played a pivotal role in the Gavin O’Connor directed The Accountant starring Ben Affleck. Other film credits include The Nanny Diaries with Scarlett Johansson for the Weinstein Company.
Alison is also a classically trained stage actor. She most recently made her Broadway debut in Lynn Nottage's Pulitzer Prize-winning Sweat at Studio 54. Alison played Jessie, joining the previously announced cast from the critically acclaimed Public Theater engagement. Her work off-Broadway incudes The New Group’s productions of Marie & Bruce (opposite Marisa Tomei) and Rafta Rafta, both directed by Scott Elliott. Regionally she has performed in Educating Rita, Godspell, The Little Mermaid, Bye Bye Birdie, The Golden Age, The Thickness of Skin and Short Stuff IV: Pops, the latter two of which were both productions at The Barrow Group in New York City.
